When getting together with our young children for playdates, we would often talk about our wish to stay at home once our maternity leave ended. We both had always wanted our own business, and knew that we could work well together, complementing each other's skills. The challenge was to find something we were both passionate about, and that was purposeful, marketable, and helpful to the community. During one late night conversation about what baby products are a definite must-have for moms- new and experienced, nursing pillows came to mind. They had been a must-have for us through our joys and challenges of breastfeeding. But how could we make them even better? Ideas sparked, conversations evolved and action started- usually with our four children around. We researched European nursing pillows, created prototypes and received professional advice and feedback from doulas, lactation consultants and midwives. The final result- the YOU Pillow- a maternity/nursing pillow that fits and benefits all types of moms and babies.

Our YOU Therapeutic Pillow evolved from the YOU Pillow. We started using the YOU Pillow for purposes other than breastfeeding, and asked our families and friends to test it. After seeing its profound support and comfort measures for a close family member who was terminally ill and a dear family member, who overcame major surgeries and health issues, we knew that we had to research the therapeutic benefits and supportive positions of the pillow. With the guidance and knowledge of occupational therapists and physiotherapists, we now have the YOU Therapeutic Pillow.
